Raymond E. ‘Ray’ Moxley, 98, of Indianapolis but more recently of Avon, passed away on the morning of October 12, 2017. Ray was born March 13, 1919, a son of the late Dee James and Marie Hilda (Boehm) Moxley in Indianapolis.

Ray was a 1937 graduate of  Emmerich Manual High School and on June 28, 1942 married the love of his life, Norma J. Ehman.  In 1938, he began his life-long career in the automobile business with Hoosier Cadillac.

Ray enjoyed anything that had to do with cars as well as music, bicycle riding with his daughters, mowing his lawn, Notre Dame football, and repairing things that were broken. Ray was also a self-taught musician and could play the violin, guitar and the organ. He especially looked forward to playing music and the jam sessions with his best friend, Herb Peaper. He was a very neat and meticulous man. Ray loved his family dearly and cherished the moments he could spend with them. His friendly and infectious smile will be missed.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Norma E. Moxley, his daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Keith Rector and Lynne and Russ Brown and was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Charles and Carl Moxley.
