DOLCE1923~2021Raymond J., age 98, on Jan. 20, 2021 of Havertown, PA.Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Carrie (nee LaBletta), his children Raymond J. Jr. (Bonnie), Joseph J. (Joann), Carol (Bob) McGarvey, and Janice (Jon) Bosworth, his 11 Grandchildren; Robert McGarvey, Joseph McGarvey, Natalie McGarvey, Raymond Dolce, Michael Dolce, Elizabeth Dolce,Kevin Congdon, Christina Congdon, Jenna Hladish, Adrienne Dolce, Joseph Dolce and his 6 Great grew up in Upper Darby above his Dad’s barber shop. Ray was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was based at the Panama Canal where he was commissioned as the bugler during World War II. He married and moved to Havertown to raise his family in 1956. Ray worked as Chief Draftsman for the Philadelphia Suburban Water Company (now Aqua) for 38 years and continued as a consultant for many years thereafter. Ray lived a full life and had many varied interests. He was passionate about music and enjoyed his time singing with the Archdiocesan Adult and Sacred Heart Parish Choirs. He marched and played bugle in the Archer Epler Drum and Bugle Corp. Ray was a big Philadelphia sports fan. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He alsoenjoyed playing poker with his buddies and participating in a stock club. Ray’s greatest love, however, was spending time with his wife of 70 years, Carrie, andhis family.
