Ray Dodillet, 91, of Centralia passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Centralia Manor. He was born in Washington County on April 19, 1921, the son of Louis & Lydia (Brun) Dodillet.

He married Evelyn Murray on June 27, 1943, in St. Louis and she preceded him in death. He later married Eleanor Sigrist on July 8, 1995, at Friedens UCC in Irvington and she survives.

In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by and was the beloved Uncle and father figure to two nephews Gary Dodillet and wife Pamela of Centralia and the late Donald Lee Dodillet, and four nieces Bonnie Rushing and husband Marion of Pinckneyville, Sue Wimpy and husband Ron of Vero Beach, Florida, Shirley Dircks and husband Ken of Louden, Iowa, and Imogene Conley & husband Kenneth of St. Louis; two stepdaughters: Marsha Haake & husband Roy of Hoyleton, and Linda Spaet and husband Robert of Granby, Colorado; many other beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Evelyn, two brothers William “Bill” Dodillet, and Alvin Dodillet; four sisters Marie Vogt, Francelia Vogt, Ester Selle, and Fern Bierman. Ray retired from a lifelong career as a grain farmer and strawberry grower. He was a devoted member of the Friedens United Church of Christ in Irvington, where he was also a member of the choir. He was a Charter Member of the Irvington Ruitan Club, a member of the Elks Lodge 493, a lifelong member of the Washington County Farm Bureau where he served on the Board from 1961 to 1972 and served as the President from 1970 to 1971. He was instrumental with others in bringing the Physician Jerry Beguelin and the Irvington Medical Center to Irvington He served on the Community Trust Bank Board of Directors from 1956 to 1996 and was a member of the Irvington Town Board.
