Rupert – Raymond David Lowry 1931-2018

Our dear father, Raymond David Lowry, 86, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2018 in Rupert, Idaho. Born February 13, 1931 in Manti, Utah to David Harold and Alta Bartholomew Lowry. Raymond was a quiet, kind soul who loved his family and was a devoted son to his parents. He attended schools in Manti then married Joyce Henrie in Provo, Utah. He moved his young family from Manti to Mt.

He moved to Oakley, Idaho where he worked as a cook for a few years then was hired at Ore Ida potato plant where he met Afton Koch who he married in 1978. Ray retired from Ore Ida in 1996 after 23 years. Afton and Raymond lived in Rupert, Idaho the rest of their lives.

Raymond had many interests but loved everything about cars and woodworking the most. He did not really get to use his woodworking skills and enjoy them until later in his life. He spent his retirement making dollhouses, intricate little wooden shoes, boots and many other things for family and grandchildren. Afton and Raymond were inseparable. They spent many years caring for their elderly mothers and were devoted caretakers. We know he is happy to finally be with his loved ones on the other side. We love you dad and grandpa and will miss you more than you will ever know.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Gayland, Shannon and Phillip, wife Afton and first wife Joyce.

He is survived by his children: Peggy Staker (Larry), Wesley Lowry (Judy), David Lowry (Sue), Lynette Southwick (Dan), Bart Lowry, Delno Koch (Sandy), Dennis Koch, Deloy Koch, 16 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
