Raymond Charles Cullen, age 87, of Norwalk, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 16 at St. Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull after a long battle with leukemia. He was the husband for 63 years of Helena Kallaway Cullen. Mr. Cullen was born in Norwalk on March 4, 1923, son of the late Charles and Gertrude Johnston Cullen and had lived there all his life. He was a graduate of J.M. Wright Technical School and after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country in Europe during WW II, attaining the rank of Technical Corporal.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Cullen is survived by his 4 sons, Richard and Sharon Rosa Cullen of Jupiter, FL, Brian and Sharon Powell Cullen of Torrington, CT, David and Joan Esposito Cullen of Fairfield, CT, and Shawn Cullen and his partner John Kee of New Hope, PA, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John “Rut” Cullen and Charles “Dud” Cullen, and an infant sister.
