Raymond B. Herrmann Sr, 96, of Silver Ridge Park North section of Berkeley Township passed away on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. He was born in Newark, NJ he lived in Naples, Fl and Kearny, NJ before moving to Silver Ridge Park North 24 years ago.

Mr. Herrmann served in the United States Army as a Private and later was accepted in the U.S. Army Air Force Cadet Program, after successfully completing the required course at the Air Force Cadet School he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. He served overseas with the 15th Air Force, 98th Bomb Group, 415th Bomb Squadron as a Bombardier on a B 24 Aircraft based in Italy. He was promoted to a First Lieutenant and completed his tour of Duty and returned to the United States.

He then served as a Bombardier Instructor based in Texas. Later he returned to Civilian Status. He also served in the Air Force Reserves and was promoted to the rank of Captain. He left the Reserves to pursue civilian endeavors, Most his civilian life was devoted to retail and on the Road Sales. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Anna (Ade) Herrmann and his sister Evelyn Herrmann Kiefer and his first wife Margaret Fox Herrmann.

He is survived by his wife Angelina Manella Herrmann, his sons Raymond and his wife Patricia and Gerald Herrmann, also his grandchildren Rachel Herrmann Perez, Christopher Herrmann, Rebecca Herrmann, Shelley Robinson and Michael Herrmann and great grandchild Scotty Perez and Mahlya Robinson.
