Raymond Antonio Guertin was born July 21, 1940, in Spencer, Massachusetts, and Transitioned on September 3, 2021, in Port St Lucie, Florida.
He is survived by his wife Janet (Ferguson); children – Jeffrey (Shirl), Diana, and Stephanie; brother – Roger L. Guertin; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ray lived 81 years and just celebrated his 60th anniversary on July 29th with his wife Janet. Janet was always his number one – no matter what. When it came to raising a family, he was a provider. He worked hard both at work and at the home, took his family on vacations, and made sure all the needs were met.
He was just like MacGyver – but better. If it broke, he fixed it. Whether it was fixing a car, packing to move or travel, adding a new outlet, changing plumbing, or creating wood designs, his skills helped everyone.
His knowledge helped a neighbor after the 2004 hurricanes to get their home repaired so they could live in it again; he helped Morningside Church with their new building and also set up the Christmas lights for the Morningside Christmas show.
Some of his favorite things are Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, Vermont sharp cheddar cheese, and sociable crackers, mmmm good. He spent many hours playing solitaire and mastered it very well.
Everyone who knew Ray loved him. Even with his “short” temper. Even the sign on the garage door says, “The Crab is In”. He left an impact on everyone that crossed his path. Yet, underneath that tough exterior, was a huge heart. If someone had a need and he could do something about it, well, he did. Ray was a blessing to so many.
He loved Jesus and knew he was going to see Him. We all have the hope of seeing Ray again and celebrating with him and the King of all Kings!
