Raymond Anderson, 91, of Cedar Court, East Haven, passed away Nov 6, 2013 in TalmadgePark. Born in New Haven on May 25, 1922, he was the son of the late Bernhard and Nancy Lamb Anderson. He was a plumber by trade, working for several area plumbing contractors, retiring from the New Haven Dept. of Education in 1988. In his youth, he played for the Oakley Tigers in the Sandlot League. He was an avid Dodgers fan and enjoyed bowling. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy for six years and was a recipient of The Purple Heart. He is survived by one brother, John J. Anderson of East Haven; three nieces, Nancy Gillette, Barbara Rahardjo & Brenda Feniola; a nephew, Richard Anderson; special cousins, Robert & George Lamb; several cousins both in the U.S and Sweden; and several grand nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Irene Gillette and a brother, Charles “Monk” Anderson.
