Ray was born May 3, 1951 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Herman and Stella Mae Tharp.
Ray worked as an electrician until his retirement and enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, and playing his guitar.
Ray is survived by his wife of 21 years, Teresa Tharp; three daughters, Amanda Rubbo, Amanda Tharp, and Amanda (Russell) Kaster; two sons, Dusten (Jessica) Tharp and Jonathan (Amy) Ross; 11 grandchildren, Ashley Navarro, Jordan Michaels, Mya Michaels, Hailey Bush, Leland Tharp, Kolby Ross, Landon Ross, Summer Kaster, Autumn Kaster, Jacklynne Ross, and Jamison Ross; brothers, Stanley Tharp, Danny (Sandy) Tharp, John “JC” (Joyce) Tharp, and Willie (Helen) Tharp.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Stella Mae Tharp; two brothers, Eugene Tharp and Roger Tharp; two sisters, Jerrie Garand and Leah Tharp.
