Mr. Ray Michael “Mike” Cramer, 75, of Goshen, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at his home on Saturday afternoon, July 24, 2022. Mike was born in Elkhart on February 20, 1947 and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ray and Gladys (Adams) Cramer, who precede Mike in passing along with a sister, Melanie Como.
He is also preceded by his beloved wife and sweetheart, Marsha (Haut) Cramer, whom he married on October 10, 1970. She passed away in Elkhart on the Fourth of July in 2019 after 48 beautifully loving years together. Marsha’s departure left Mike with a considerably heavy heart, so we can only imagine the degree of celebration going on in Heaven right now as they embrace, knowing that they’ll never be apart again!
Surviving Mike are his daughters Nicole (Darrel Crippin) Ganczak of Goshen and Autumn (Adam) Lindley of Edwardsburg, Michigan; his grandchildren Nicholas and Violet Ganczak and Dawson, Hayden and Evelyn Lindley, and a loving host of extended family and friends, including his faithfully ever-present dachshund, “Cooper”.
Mike worked many years as a local service technician for telephone communication systems ever since the days of GTE, which, over the years, became Verizon. He worked hard to provide for his family, but especially enjoyed the adventures he had during his free time.
His most prominent hobby was his involvement with the Flight Masters Radio-Controlled Aircraft Club, a local group of aviation enthusiasts who designed, built and flew their own radio-controlled model aircraft. He had amassed quite a fleet of airplanes that, depending on his schedule and the weather, he loved to get out and fly. Mike’s other “big deal” was his enthusiasm for all things culinary. He simply loved to cook, and made a lot of different dishes, but all his friends and relatives would tell you that, hands down, Mike’s homemade pizza recipe would impress even the most notorious Italian Mafioso.
Other things that made Mike happy was his love for reading, taking long, peaceful walks with his daughters and grands in places such as Oxbow Park and travelling to Orange Beach with his sweetie, Marsha. He was also quite the amateur photographer as well and had a knack for capturing really beautiful images.
