Ray. E. (Pepper) Simons, 87, of Tunnelton (Stevenburg Community) died Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the South Fayette Nursing Home.
He was born July 31, 1928, in Kingmont, a son of the late George R. and Ora M. Curry Simons.
Pepper was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He had worked as a laborer in the construction industry.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ida Waybright Simons; four sons, Roger Simons and wife, Brenda of Newburg, George Simons and wife, Barbara and Jamie Simons and wife, Rosemary, all of Grafton and Tim Simons and wife, Irene of Borgman; four daughters, Margaret Teegarden and Gary Shriver of Spraggs, PA, Linda Edwards and husband, Dana and Gloria Newlon, all of Grafton and Surrilda Street of Tunnelton; a brother, Clyde (Sonny) Simons of Tunnelton; three sisters, Annette Sisler of Oakland, MD, Wanda Howdershelt of Lordstown, OH and Helen Cienbiec of Akron, OH; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Oleta Rowan, four brothers, Glenn, Donald, Johnny and Leon Simons, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
