Ray Conn Stanton, 72 of Newburg, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence with family by his side. He was born on June 23, 1943 in Bruceton Mills, son of the late Ernest Lewis and Emma Clare Wheeler Stanton. He worked for Dixon Drilling as a Driller and Helper. Ray loved watching wrestling, and doing word search puzzles. Ray is survived by one daughter, Melinda Ray Lyons and Jeff, Newburg; one granddaughter, Allison Rhae Lyons, Newburg; four step sons, Charles Miller, John Miller, Mike Miller, Pat Miller; several step grandchildren, two brothers, Ernest “Bud” Stanton and Shirley, Elyria, Ohio, Roy Don Stanton and Nixie, Albright; three sisters, Elizabeth Ann Stanton, Ohio, Alberta Graham, Albright, Lou Graham and Richard, Kingwood; and his little dog, Tiny; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parent, Ray was preceded in death by his spouse, Alda Mae Miller, one brother, Robert Layne Stanton, two sisters, Margaret DeBerry and Grace Shrout.
