Raul Olvera Salinas, age 78, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. He was born May 27, 1943, in Harlingen to Esmundo and Genoveva Salinas, but he was a lifelong resident of Combes, Texas. Raul was retired from Acetylene Oxygen Co. (AOC) after many years of loyal service. He had a love for music and would write music and loved to play the guitar. Some of Raul’s favorite pastimes were playing gigs with his band “La Leyenda Mexicana” that was featured on national television on the “Aqui Rogelio Show.” He was a hard worker and man of faith who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Raul is preceded in death by his son, Roel Salinas; his parents; a brother Richard Salinas.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his loving wife of 54 years, Cleotilde Morales Salinas; four sons and two daughters, Raul Salinas Jr., Renel Salinas (Michael), Romel Salinas (Belen), Rolando Salinas (Yvonne), Belinda Rodriguez (Moses), and Brenda Salinas; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Ramiro Salinas (Lali) and Pablo Salinas, sister in law, Sylvia Salinas. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
