Randy was born on November 25, 1941 to Millard and Viola (Bluhm) Bjerrum in Seward, Nebraska. He attended Utica High School in Utica, Nebraska and graduated in 1959. He then graduated from Milford Trade School in building construction. Randy married Nancy Alshouse in 1962. This marriage was blessed with two children, Lori and David. On February 13, 1993, Randy married Leah Linn in Utica, Nebraska. Randy was a farmer and carpenter. He was also co-owner of Southview Plaza Apartments in Utica.
