Randy Dale Sparks “Cowboy” passed away at his residence on April 16, 2011 at the age of 55. He was born on March 6, 1956 in Terre Haute to Carl Sparks and Guilietta Sparks Moody.
Randy was a 1974 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School and he had been employed by Wiemuth and Son for 18 years. Randy had a passion for country music, dancing, fishing and sports. He was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame in 1999. Randy never met a stranger and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved to barbecue for his friends and his specialty was ribs.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sparks, and stepfather Harold Moody.
He is survived by his mother Guilietta Sparks Moody of Terre Haute and son Carl Sparks and his wife Ashley of West Terre Haute. Stepson David Overton and stepdaughters Rachel Howard and her husband Ryan and Deanna Overton, all from Terre Haute. Brothers Doyle Sparks and his wife Ina of Shelburn, John Sparks and his wife Shirley of Terre Haute, Mick Sparks and his wife Madoline of Brazil and sister Lynda Shipley and her husband Denny of Anderson. Several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Randy’s former wives Deborah Wyatt and Pam Pell. Best friend Ed “Boy” Craffets and Randy’s loving friend and companion Lisa Dean. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
