Ramona Reeder Heslop 88, quietly slipped away into the arms of her sweetheart on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Ramona was born July 29, 1928 in Brigham City, Utah to David Leslie and Retha Housley Reeder.

After graduating from Cyprus High School she worked as a nurse’s aid at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City. While there she had the opportunity to work with Polio Patients whom she dearly loved.

In 1950 she was called to serve in the Canadian Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she made many lifelong friends.

She married LeRoyden Heslop on June 9, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had six sons whom they raised on the Heslop farm in Kaysville, Utah.

In 1968 she graduated from Weber State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She taught school in the Davis County school district for 20 years, teaching all but two years at Wasatch Elementary in Clearfield, Utah.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. Her favorite calling was teaching her laurel class. She loved “her girls” and they loved her.

Upon her retirement she and Royden served a mission in Peach Springs, Arizona among the Hualapai people.

She was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Marlene); Reed (Carole); Mark (Kally); Tim (Charlene); Roy (Janice) Daron (Kerry); 24 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; a brother Keith Reeder; sisters Lucille Turpin and Patricia Potter. She was proceed in death by her husband; parents and baby brother Dee.

The family would like to give special thanks to Sallie Huntington and her staff at Chancellor Garden’s memory unit.
