Ramon N. Shaver, 82, of Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at his home.
He was born April 16, 1927 in Griggsville, IL; the son of Simion N. and Freda Elizabeth Beedle Shaver. He married Annette Morgan on September 22, 1951 in Quincy, IL and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Kent Shaver (wife, Theresa) of Mt. Sterling; a daughter, Sherri Gregory (husband, Dave) of Concord; five grandchildren, Brianne Shaver, Ashley Zimmerman, Danielle Shaver, Justin Maher, and Vanessa Maher; four step grandchildren, Chris, Brock, Shaye and Josh Gregory; two great grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Karma Jensen; and a niece, Christine Shaffer.
Mr. Shaver attended Griggsville High School and served with the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a plumber and carpenter in the Griggsville area prior to moving to Jacksonville in the 1970â??s. He was employed in the maintenance department at MacMurray College and more recently was an antiques dealer. He was a member of the Carnival Glass Association and the Antique Tool Association.
