It is with a heavy heart and much sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Ralph K. Young. Our Dad was a longtime resident of Lordsburg, NM. He passed away on December 15 at the Sunshine Haven Nursing Home.

He was one of six children born to Samuel H. and Mary Jane Baggett Young. A Korean War Veteran, Our Dad continued his service to his country with the New Mexico National Guard for over 25 years. During his lifetime, he worked in a variety of occupations, including telephone lineman for the City of Columbus New Mexico, signal maintenance worker for Southern Pacific Railroad, E.J Short, and Sons, a maintenance worker for the City of Lordsburg, and as a Lordsburg Public School janitor. Our Dad was also employed by Foy Powell Plumbing and was well-known in the Lordsburg area. He was a proud member of LULAC, Elks Lodge, and the local VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Young of Lordsburg, and six sons Gary (Lordsburg, NM), Robert (Las Cruces, NM), James (Tulsa, OK), Ruben (Dodge City, KS), Mark (Lordsburg) and David Young (Twenty Nine Palms, CA). In addition, he leaves 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
