Ralph Franklin Weant, 91, of Frizzellburg, died Sunday morning, August 18, 2013 at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Born October 22, 1921 in Bruceville, MD, he was the son of the late Raymond Cyrus and Anna Josephine Dayhoff Weant. He was the husband of the late Ruth May Shaner Weant who passed away in 2004. They were married for 57 years.
Ralph was a proud veteran of World War II, serving from December 1942 through October 1945. He spoke often of his deployment to Italy as a member of the United States Air Medical Corps. Ralph had a variety of jobs during his life including positions at Willow Farms Dairy in Frizzellburg, Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown, and Baughers Restaurant & Orchard in Westminster. He was a member of Keysville Evangelical Lutheran Church in Keysville.
Surviving are cousins, Carroll Hahn of Taneytown, Sandra Parker and Judy Seipp of Westminster, Lola Mathias of Eldersburg and several other cousins; close friends, Bill and Lori Isenberg of Taneytown and their three daughters, Abby, Katy, and Christine; and a nephew. Ralph was predeceased by brother, Donald Raymond Weant and sister, Audrey Lee Weant.
