Ralph Vernon Rodecap, 85, Anderson, passed away January 16, 2011 at St. Vincent Heart Center-Indianapolis after a brief illness



He was born September 9, 1925 in Anderson, and resided in Anderson his entire life. As a Marine in WWII, Ralph vallantly served his country in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. His career began with a family business, the Rodecap Candy Company. He later worked 25 years and retired from T & H Service and Sales. Ralph was a long standing member of the American Legion and also a member of the Madison County Voiture #510 40 & 8 Club.



He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Margaret Baltz Sorg-Rodecap; children, Debbie Rodecap of Michigan City, Becky Ray Stafford of South Bend, Lynn Scott Clark of Noblesville, Tracy Chapin of Michigan City, Marc Libby Freer Scharnowske of Anderson and Kevin Gloria Scharnowske of Ellettsville; grandchildren, Mary Rodecap, Michael Rodecap, Andrew Rodecap, Jeremy Rodecap, Nathan Rodecap, Amy Jesse Reinke, Casey Pat Malloy, Lisa Jason Scherer, Claudia Clark, Katie Brunn, Lindsay Scharnowske, Katie Scharnowske, Bethany Scharnowske, and Megan Andy Bulla, several great grandchildren; aunt, Eunice Needs and cousins, Jan Clark, Steve Podhaski, and Patricia Beard.



Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil & Bernadine Feigley Rodecap; the mother of his daughters, JoAnn Hesson; his wife of 35 years, Luana Rodecap; grandson, Wesley Scharnowske and a brother, Jack Rodecap.
