Ralph Shelburn, 88, of Anderson, passed away on September 28, 2015, at his residence. He was born on April 13, 1927, in Taylorsville, Kentucky and resided most of his life in Anderson. Ralph graduated from Anderson High School in 1946, and Purdue University in 1954.
He served his country in the Navy at the end of WWII. He retired from the US Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church, Past Member of Ovid Masonic Lodge, he was a 32nd degree Mason, past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Men’s Kiwanis, and numerous professional organizations.. He enjoyed mowing his yard, and spending time with his family.
Ralph is survived by his children, Marianne Abney of Anderson, R. Michael (Terri) Shelburn of Zephyrhills, FL, Warren Shelburn of Anderson, Nora Bodenhorn of Anderson, grandchildren, Katie (Steve) Goar, April (Randy) Bordeau, Ben (Terri) Abney, Judah (Jim) Holland, Lindsey (Matt) Ice, Aaron (Liz) Bodenhorn, and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Joan Shelburn, mother, Catherine Jantzen, father, T.Q. Shelburn, and his sister, Mary McHarry.
