Ralph W. Schlafer age 82 of Monroe, WI formerly of Stockton, IL died Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. He was born May, 21, 1931 in Freeport, IL the son of the late Ralph & Charlotte (Binninger) Schlafer.
Ralph was a 1949 graduate of Stockton High School and of the University of Dubuque. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Germany. He had retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue and had also worked at the Rockford Post Office.
His memberships include being a lifetime member of the Monroe VFW, Stockton American Legion, Plum River Masonic Lodge, Freeport Consistory, and the Illinois Sherriff Association. Ralph enjoyed helping on the farm.
Survivors include 2-brothers; John (Judy) Schlafer of Dow, IL and Dave Schlafer of Stockton, 2-nephews Mike & Greg.
