The family of Ralph Mezza, Sr., 78, is sad to tell of his passing on October 22, 2018. Ralph was born on April 29, 1940 to Anthony and Assunta (Fernicola) Mezza. He was a graduate of St. James High School, Seton Hall University, Kean University, and William Paterson University.
Ralph was employed for 34 years by the Newark Board of Education, retiring in 2001. Since retiring, his happiness has been spending fun times with his five adoring grandchildren.
Ralph leaves the countless memories he shared with his wife of 56 years, Kathryn (Rundzieher) Mezza; his son and best friend Ralph Jr., his wife Stephanie., and their sons, Nicholas, Anthony, and Michael; and his special bond with his daughter, Susan Harmon, her husband Dave, and their children Gabriella and David.
Ralph will truly be missed by his brother, Michael, and his wife, Jane, and their children Christie and Michael, and his brother-in- law, Paul Rundzieher, and his wife, Theresa, his children Paul and Michelle, and their mother, Diane.
Ralph was a lifelong sports fan. His favorite pastimes included playing baseball and basketball, going to his grandchildrens’ games, and watching his favorite teams, the Yankees and Giants, play.
