Ralph Maxwell, October 18, 1934 – May 22, 2017.

Ralph Maxwell, age 82, who resided with his wife Jeannene in Temple, Texas, passed away Monday afternoon, May 22, 2017, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital. He and Jeannene lived in the Temple area for 59 years.

Ralph was born October 18, 1934, in Dublin, Texas. He was the only son of the late Jake Maxwell and Mary Lou Howell. Ralph was raised and finished school in Fort Worth. At the age of 18, he enlisted and served from

1953 – 1956 in the United States Marine Corps Ralph married the love of his life, Jeannene Lewis, whom he swept off her feet at Skateland in Temple.

They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary April 19th.  In 1973, he earned an AAS degree in Business Management at Temple Junior College. Ralph was a lifelong brick mason, having learned the trade from his dad.  Ralph’s second love, after his family, was playing golf with his sons, brother-in-law and close friends from church.  He was preceded in death by both parents and his sisters, Mary Louise Hanna, Jessie P. Dunlap and Jean Ann Hill.  He was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Moody.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Jeannene and sons, Leslie and wife Lynne, of Gholson, Dan and wife Gina, of Morgan’s Point Resort;  5 grandchildren, Daniel, Nicky, Jake, Jaime and Kristyn and 2 great-granddaughters;  brother-in-law Sonny Lewis and wife Sharon, and a number of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Ralph was a very kind and gentle man who loved and was loved deeply. He will be greatly missed.
