Ralph J. Ayers, 80 of Shinnston passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Ruby Memorial following a brief illness. He was born March 19, 1931 in Shinnston, the son of late John V. Ayers and Mary Ellen Deem Ayers. He was preceded in death by his second wife Betty J Lowry on October 7, 1999. He is survived by his first wife Barbara Ann Basnett Cain whom he married February 8, 1954; one Grandson; Robert Jackson of Ohio; One Granddaughter Shannon Jackson of Ohio; one Great Grandson; one Nephew Mike Wable and wife Linda from Shinnston and several other nieces and nephews and numerous Great nieces and Nephews and Cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: six Brothers; Cecil, Lester, Clarence Raymond, Edward and Dennis Ayers; four Sisters: Eva Dell, Gladys, Mary, and Martha. He was the last surviving member of his family. Mr. Ayers retired in 1985 as an assembly operator from the Ford Motor Co.
