Ralph Henry Borgess, 61 of Lavallette, NJ died on Saturday October 29, 2011 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Born in Kearny, NJ living most of his adult life in Lavallette, NJ summering there for many years before moving there permanently 20 years ago.
He was a High School Teacher and Football Coach then became the owner and operator of Cumberland Construction Company in Lavallette, NJ for many years. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor degree in Business and was the Captain of the 1971 National Champion football team as well as being First Team All American. He was a Lavallette Life Guard. Ralph loved to read, the outdoors, and being home at Ralph & Annie’s “Tiki Bar”, he also loved music especially the Grateful Dead. Predeceased by his father Ralph Borgess.
Surviving is his beloved wife Annie (Ryder), his mother Ruth (Stumpf), one daughter Christine Riccardi and her husband Robert of Staten Island, NY, two sons Ralph Borgess and his wife Stephanie of Middletown, NJ, and Travis Borgess of Cedar Grove, NJ, one brother Richard Borgess and his wife Laura of Highland Lakes, NJ, five grandchildren, his mother in-law Ruth Ryder and also many friends and relatives.
