Ralph H. Johnston, 80, of Anderson, went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 3, 1925 in Muskegon, Michigan, and resided in Anderson, Indiana.

He worked in Grand Rapids for RC Allen Business Machines in research and devolopment. He transferred to Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1960 and continued in research and development.

He retired from Delco Remy on January 1, 1996. He then worked for Delco Remy America and had his own engineering consulting firm until August of 2004.

Ralph graduated from the RCA Institute in New York in 1948. He served his country in the US Army during WWII where he received a Bronze Star for bravery.

Ralph loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He had a deep love for the Lord. He enjoyed music, family get togethers and traveling. He will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Edna Kantola Johnston and children: Carolyn & husband Peeter Lukas of Adrian, Michigan; Gary & wife Terri Johnston of Highland, Michigan; Richard & wife Nancy Johnston of Moweaqua, Illinois; Jeanette Johnston of Kentwood, Michigan; Phillip & wife Heather Johnston of Youngstown, Ohio and Brian & wife Julie Johnston of Anderson. Nineteen Grandchildren, Anneli and Meena Lukas, Eric, Mark, Kara, Carrie, Sarah, Clayton, Wesley, Meri, Kyle, Megan, Alex and Bethany Johnston, and Chris, Stephanie, Kaden, Nick and Jacob Peeples. Sisters, Ruth & husband Arnie Kantola and Helen Helm both of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Johnston and his parents, Clayton and Gladys Gibert Johnston.
