SALEM – Ralph F. Timmins, age 98, died at 3:15 a.m. February 19, 2018 at the Essex I of Salem. He was born June 3, 1919 in New Kensington, PA, the son of William and Agnes (Morgan) Timmins.

He worked in the maintenance department of West Penn Power Company, was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Salem, loved woodworking, bocce, golfing, horseshoes and playing cards with his neighbors. Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.

His wife, Mary Lou (Starke) Timmins, whom he married July 24, 1968 preceded him in death on July 6, 2017.

Survivors include two daughters, Ellen “Sandy” (Richard) Schnelzer of FL, and Carol (Joe) Szakacs of New Kensington, PA; a step-daughter, Janet (Kevin) Chumney of Salem; two sisters, Dorothy Bowser and Agnes “Skip” Simons; six grandchildren, Raymond, Bobbi Jo, Nikki, Jody, Amy and Cole and six great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were four sisters, Ruth Lockerman, Martha Timmins, Ellen Timmins and Myrtle Shaffer and two brothers, John and Glenn Timmins.

Ralph donated his body to medical science.
