Ralph Dantzler Riley, 80, of 4635 Fetteressa Aveue, North Charleston, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 2, 2017 at his residence.

Ralph was born on May 28, 1936, in Knightsville, a son of the late Frank Edward and Rosalee Knight Riley.  He was a 1955 graduate of Harleyville High School where he was an outstanding athlete in multiple sports but especially in track for which he won the state championship in the 100 yard dash.  He retired as a heavy equipment operator with Giant Cement Plant and was a charter member of the First Baptist Church.  He was predeceased by siblings, Dorothy Riley, Thomas Riley, Robert Riley, Frank Riley, Jr., Norman Riley, Hazel Briggman, Nell Bradwell and his longtime friend, Jerome Knight.

Surviving is a sister, Carol (Bobby) Farmer, Covington, GA; sister-in-law, Martha Riley; special nephews, Franklin (Robin) Riley, all of Harleyville and Leroy (Cindy) Riley, Walterboro; and several nieces and nephews.
