Ralph D. Cruzan, Jr., 85, of Jacksonville died June 21, 2008, at Barton Stone Home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Jacksonville, the son of Ralph L. and Golda Lorene Tigner Cruzan. He married Joyce Moore in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1986. He married Mary Frances Kennedy on Apr. 18, 1948, in Jacksonville, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 1999.
He is survived by one son, David N. Cruzan of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald W. Cruzan (surviving wife, Evelyn V. Cruzan of Jacksonville) and Norval E. Cruzan.
Mr. Cruzan attended Jacksonville High School. He was employed by the City of Jacksonville, working 35 years for the Water Department. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Cruzan had remained active with his Air Corps Reunions over the years, and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. As a youth, he was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps.
