Ralph Carey Meares, age 68, was swept into the arms of God on September 13, 2015. He was born on March 7, 1947 in Sumter, SC to the late Frank and Janie Meares. Mr. Meares was a computer analyst for the Department of Defense and retired after 38 years of service and was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman but mostly loved watching the Washington Redskins. Ralph “Carey” is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Evans Meares; two sons: Robert Meares, Zacarey and his wife Jessica; one brother: William “Bill” and his wife Bonnie; one sister: Gayle and her husband Jeff Norris; one uncle: Norman and his wife Sally and five grandchildren: James, McKenna, Luke, Lillian, and Raygen. Carey was loved by many for his laughter and gentle wisdom. He will be greatly missed and loved by all his friends and family.
