Ralph Anton, 78, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born January 8, 1940, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Jacob and Jeannette Anton. He married Jeanette Gaworski in Aurora, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; brother, Randy (Jan) Anton, and sister, Diane (Dennis) Ryll; as well as several nieces and nephews; and furry kids, Dori, Rusty, Sara, and Zeus. He was preceded in death by his parents; and numerous furry kids.
Ralph received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Missouri, a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee, and a Master of Science in Education from Gallaudet in Washington, D.C.
Ralph was employed at the Illinois School for the Deaf for many years as the Recreation Director. Following retirement, he enjoyed time spent working at Papa John’s Pizza.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed traveling, visiting with family and friends, and many excursions with family and friends to numerous restaurants. Ralph was a member of the Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville.
