Ralph Anthony Lindeman of Buford, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the age of 88, after several months of declining health brought on by COVID-19. Ralph died peacefully at Seasons Hospice after seeing and talking to his loved ones and having the ability to say his goodbyes.
Ralph was born in Delphos, Ohio on August 26th, 1931, to father Clifford Anthony Lindeman and mother Agnes Anna Lindeman (Dahling). The oldest of two children, Ralph showed independence at 16 years old by opting to stay in Dayton with his younger sister Patricia when their parents moved back to Lima Ohio. He worked in a dry cleaner until he graduated High School and then worked shortly as a land surveyor for the County of Montgomery in Ohio. He joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served our country for 32 years. Serving during the Korean War, the Vietnam War and most of the Cold War.
After retiring from the government in 1984 Ralph worked 5 more years as a contractor for UES Inc. leveraging his experience and knowledge related to aircraft maintenance and operational efficiency and availability. He then filled his time with volunteer work at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the VFW as the treasury for his local chapter and helping to take care of his granddaughter Jessica along with his dog Snort.
Late in life Ralph and his wife Ruth decided to move west to be closer to the grandchildren and as such spent a number of years living in Big Bear California and Fort Mohave Arizona before moving again to be close to family in Georgia.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Jeraldine Lindeman (Baldwin); sister Patricia Ann Wagner (Lindeman); son and daughter-in-law Stephen Anthony Lindeman and Kimberly Ann Lindeman (Fenoglia) and grandchildren Jessica Marie Lindeman and Stephen (Tony) Anthony Lindeman.
