Rafiq A. Faulkner, 46, of Williamsport, left this world all too soon on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019.
Born Feb. 28, 1973, in Philadelphia, he was a son of Seenia M. Leatherbury (Edward), of Williamsport, and the late Roland S. Faulkner.
Rafiq was employed by HOPE Enterprises as a direct support professional. His life’s work caring for the disabled in California and then Pennsylvania truly reflected his personality, as he was considered a gentle giant caring for everyone. A wise, honest man who always had positive words and advice to give was well-loved by all, especially aunt Chrissy, his family who affectionately called him Rocky, and his neighbors who referred to him as Uncle Phil.
Rafiq was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan who loved to tailgate during games with his brother, Duane. He was a wealth of news knowledge, stayed up to date on current events and always had a great playlist ready to listen to, often including a variety of music. In October, Rafiq was able to take his family on a very memorable road trip visiting California, Arizona and Nevada.
Rafiq was the loving husband and best friend of Rasheeda J. (Miller) Faulkner and the proud dad of Amber, Rasheed, Khalila “Cookie,” Jason, Faith and Isaiah. He was a grandfather to Aubrey and Kennedy and a brother to Tanya, Donavan, Duane and Iesha. Rafiq also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, his mother-in-law, Yvonne Miller, many dear friends and his beloved cats.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Sabrina Butler-Baxter.
