Raffaela “Rae” DeLucia Tramontano, 77, of New Haven, passed away December 3, 2016. She was the widow of Richard C. Tramontano Sr. Rae was born in New Haven Sept. 1, 1939, daughter of the late Gennaro “Jerry” and Felicia Brignola DeLucia. Rae served the City of New Haven for over 30 years as both Registrar and Deputy Registrar of Voters. Due to her vast knowledge in her field, she was consulted for creating legislation regarding voter rights and election procedures nationwide. She served as president of ROVAC, Registrar of Voters Association. She also served the Republican Party in many capacities as a member of Ward Committee, to Vice Chairman, Town Chairman and State Central Committee Woman. She represented the party as a delegate to city, state and congressional conventions. She also served as a delegate to the national convention to elect President George W. Bush. She was the beloved mother of Marie (Shawn) Rigoulot, Joseph (Sherryl) Tramontano, Richard Tramontano Jr. and Jerry Tramontano; sister of Geraldine (John) Petrulis; Grandmother of Joseph, Richard III and Michael Tramontano, Caylee Furtak, Shawn & Ethan Rigoulot. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
