Raffaela Campano Pilato, 91, passed away peacefully in New Haven January 4, 2016 with her family by her side. She was the widow of Vincent F. Pilato Jr., formerly of Chambers St. Fair Haven. Born in New Haven February 20, 1924, daughter of the late Angelo and Angelina Pascarella Campano she worked at the New Haven Clock Shop and later as a Matron for the New Haven Board of Education. Mother of Barbara (Dominic) Vuolo and Vincent (Joan) Pilato III.; grandmother of Dominic (Bridget) Vuolo III, Jennifer (Trevor) Vuolo Brown, Michael (Jennifer) Pilato, Robert and Lisa Pilato; great grandmother of Ryan, Mia, and Brynn Vuolo, Bailey and Benjamin Brown, Isabella and Michael Pilato. Also survived by her sister Sue Vernale. Mrs. Pilato was predeceased by her brothers, James, Fred and George, Campano; and sisters, Mary DePaolo, Margaret Altieri, Lucy Proto, Josephine Bova, and Jean Massaro.
