Rae Lynn Charlton Hankins, age 84, died in Littleton, Colorado on August 29, 2019 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
Rae, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, was born on December 20, 1934 in Portland, Oregon. As part of a military family, Rae lived in Oregon, San Francisco, Buffalo, New York, and Kansas City, MO. She also spent time in Japan after World War II with her family as part of her father’s military assignment.
However, she lived the second half of her life in Colorado, where she was a purchasing agent for Lutheran Hospital for 21 years, before retiring in 1998. Rae gave her life to Christ and followed him faithfully for forty years.
Survivors include her children, Steven Charlton Hankins (wife Camille), Lynn Ann Oliver (husband Keith) and James Thomas Hankins (wife Heather). Grandchildren include Joshua and James Courter, Danielle Hankins, Ryan and Tara Paukune, and Griffen and Zachary Hankins. She also leaves a sister, Judith Ann Obman.
Rae was preceded in death by her parents Arthur J. Charlton and Janice Strickland Charlton, along with her husband of 25 years, John Thomas Hankins.
