Our beloved and beautiful daughter, Rachel Lynn Wong, joined the Lord on Wednesday February 19th, 2020 after sharing her many gifts and her love with us for over 35 years. Although so very strong in all aspects of the word, she unexpectedly succumbed to heart failure. Rachel was born on March 27th, 1984 at Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane Washington. She was our second daughter and was a true gift from God to all of us. As an Air Force family member, Rachel lived in many states from Washington, to California, to Nebraska, to Alabama, to Michigan, to Rhode Island, to Washington DC, and finally to her home in Idaho. She loved her Air Force life and greatly endured the challenges associated with so many moves and new student experiences. She always enjoyed seeing her Dad on the flight line, climbing into the jets, and of course, meeting the Thunderbirds. She also loved her clarinet and her music and was active in many school marching and concert bands. She had a gift for music and art and continued to pursue this gift at every stage of her young life.
Rachel graduated from Eagle High School in June 2003 and was accepted to Boise State University shortly after. She was offered a scholarship with the Blue Thunder Marching Band and played with them for her entire college career as a section leader and was awarded a Boise State University Letterman’s jacket. Rachel graduated in June 2010 with a Bachelor of Art in Anthropology and Archaeology. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Psi Music Fraternity and a member of the Boise State’s Collaborative Archaeological Research and Cultural Dig teams. Rachel also joined the Treasure Valley Concert Band in 2008 and has been a member until her passing. Following in her Mother’s footsteps, Rachel joined PEO in 2009, a woman’s Philanthropic Education Organization where she continued the traditions set by her Grandmother, her Mother, and her Aunt.
Rachel was an avid and dedicated supporter for the 366th Fighter Wing’s “Operation Warmheart” and never missed the Idaho Patriot Thunder military family charity events.
