Rachel E. Ricks, 92, of Indianapolis, IN and formerly of Jacksonville, IL died December 19, 2014, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.
She was born April 28, 1922 in Roodhouse, IL, daughter of Lee and Ethel Thompson Husted. She married William B. Ricks on June 5, 1949 in Jacksonville, IL and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2013.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Ricks of Plymouth, MA and Ann E. Leitze (husband, Harold) of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Jason M. Leitze of Fishers, IN and Jeremy M. Leitze of Avon, IN; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee Husted and Richard Husted, and a son, Jack E. Ricks.
Mrs. Ricks graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1940 and from Passavant School of Nursing. She spent the majority of her nursing career as an instructor in the Passavant School of Nursing. She was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church.
