Rachel Bennett Bowman was born November 8, 1924, to Charley and Maude Bennett in Rossville, GA. She graduated from Central High School in 1942 shortly after she married Samuel Amos Bowman on April 16. They were happily married for 57 years before he passed in August 1999. Rachel went HOME on Oct 18, 2015 .
For many years Rachel worked alongside her husband in Bowman Realty, Chattanooga.
Rachel was kind, gentle, compassionate, fun and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two daughters Deborah McCarn (Larry) of Langston, AL, and Patricia Linden (Robert) of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as two grandchildren Derek Linden (Rebecca) of Ashburn, VA, and Kara Martin (George) of Kansas City, MO, three great-grandsons Paul, John, Kevin Martin and many nephews and nieces. Her special friend Poppy Meece (Wayne) was a constant help and wonderful, caring companion to the end. Rachel was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Nell Haley, Midge Blake, Albert Bennett.
The family greatly appreciates the kindness of the Hospice staff and the care given to Mom.
