Promise Rebekah Whitley of Palmetto, GA passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019, at the age of 40. She was born in Raleigh, NC on March 30, 1978, to William and Linda Terrell of Four Oaks, NC.
An honors graduate of Duke University, she began her career teaching middle school language arts. She married and moved to Newnan, GA in 2003, where she worked as a substitute teacher. She later changed careers and became a nurse, completing her degree even as she bravely battled cancer. Promise was well-known amongst friends and family for her extraordinary baking skills. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed needlework, traveling, and spending time with family. She especially loved spoiling her nieces and nephews at every opportunity. She is survived by her loving husband, Eric Whitley, her parents, sister Amberly Strickland, four nephews, two nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
