Prince Lemont Scruggs was born on September 16, 1954 in Hillsboro, Alabama to Theodis Melvin Scruggs and Annie Arletha Johnson. He was a resident of Lawrence County Alabama in his young adult life, and a resident of Morgan County Alabama his later adult life until his demise in Decatur General Hospital, Decatur, Alabama on March 4, 2014.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mount Olive P. B. Church in Hillsboro, Alabama.

He attended Tennessee Valley High School until he decided to join the U. S. Job Corp in 1970. While in the Job Corp he received a degree in welding. After completion of the Job Corp, he joined the U. S. Marines where he served three years. While in the U.S. Marines he received a degree as a Diesel Mechanic. He was a production worker at G.E. in Decatur, Alabama and worked numerous years at International Papers in Courtland, Alabama. He lived a very rewarding life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodis M. and Annie Arletha Johnson Scruggs, three brothers, Theodis M. Scruggs Jr., Robert James Scruggs and Floyd Gene Scruggs.

He leaves not to mourn, but to rejoice and cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of twenty-three years, Lisa Nelson Scruggs; two sons, Prince Ricardo Scruggs (Heather) of Hillsboro, and Juniorus Bayron Scruggs of Decatur; two daughters, Falon Monique Scruggs of Hillsboro and Breanna Arabia Silk Scruggs of Decatur; one grandchild, Jalen Terell Scruggs of Decatur; three brothers, Carl M. Scruggs (Gladys) of Hillsboro, Prentice L. Scruggs (Luella) of Lawton, OK and Darryl A Scruggs (Debra) of Decatur; two sisters, Alma Stevens of Huntsville and Ednar L. Bolden (James) of Hillsboro; two aunts, Maggie Moore and Rebel Elliott; one uncle, Lorenzo McDay; one brother-in-law, Charles Nelson of Atlanta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Johnson and Angelia Harris of Decatur; one very special cousin, Edward N. Reynolds, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Prince was a truly unique person who loved his family and others. He had a very special passion for fishing and mechanics. He will truly be missed by all who knew him for some of the humorous things he said and did.
