Preston T. Reeves, 66, died on October 19, 2021, in Des Moines, IA. He was born on March 28, 1955, in New Orleans, LA to parents C. Tom Reeves, and Roberta Lillian (Preston). He grew up in Des Moines, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1973, working as a surgical technician then graduated from Mercy Hospital School for Nurses and became a registered nurse. His surgical RN career spanned over 4 decades, and included a stint on the surgical heart team at Mercy then in general surgery for over 30 years and followed by a decade in OR nursing at Methodist Hospital Level I trauma in Des Moines.
His other passion was fishing in Iowa lakes and rivers for his entire life. He earned Master Angler recognition several times and was extremely skilled in freshwater fishing. His love of fishing came from his parents who were also lifelong fishermen. Preston once stated, “the apple didn’t fall far from the tree”.
Preston is survived by sister Beverly Reeves-Dudley, husband Tom, and a nephew as well as many wonderful friends.
