The Rev. Preston H. Dusman, 83, of Williamsport died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Rose View Center.
Born March 15, 1927 in Hanover, PA., he was a son of George H. and Gertie (Hahn) Dusman.
He was a graduate of Codorus Township High School, Glenville; Gettysburg College and the Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg.
Rev. Dusman served as Vicar at Grace Lutheran Church, Westminister, MD; Parish Pastor at Easton-Cordova (Grace & St. Paul) MD; Christ Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg , VA; Williamsburg Lutheran Parish (Zion & St. John’s) Williamsburg, PA; Redeemer Lutheran Church, Williamsport, he also served as interim pastor to several congregations following retirement.
He served as Campus Pastor at Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, VA.; Chaplain to Military Personal at Quantico, Camp A.P. Hill, and Dalgren Naval Weapons Laboratory, all in VA.
Rev. Dusman was secretary for the Altoona Conference Cabinet, Lutheran Church in America and the West Branch conference of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, as well as serving on several committees in both Church bodies.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Virginia (Wentz) Dusman, and a son Karl W. Dusman (Sherry) of Williamsport.
He was preceded in death by his six siblings; Leroy, Maurice, and Earl Dusman, Mary Oermann, Arlene Stockham and Marie Hawkins.
