My Brother Postoria (Tory) Aguirre III
Postoria Aguirre III passed away suddenly on July 1, 2022 in San Diego, CA. Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 15, 1959, Postoria was the third son of Marie and PostoriaAguirre, II’s union. He has been predeceased by his mother, father and brother (Gary).
Postoria attended Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Rita High School. Thereafter, he graduated from the Washburn School of Culinary Arts with Honors.
He found himself gainfully employed with the USPS for years before eventually making his part-time passion for cooking a full-time career. As a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, National Restaurant Association, he prided himself in attending food festivals and cook-offs. He even welcomed close friends and relatives to accompany him to the prominent National Restaurant Association Shows, held annually at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
Notably, his charismatic personality coupled with his culinary skills presented him with a prestigious invitation to cook for then-President Bush.
It’s undoubtable that his charisma and interests in good living evolved from his multicultural and tradition-rich family heritage. While his hobbies had been dancing, partying, and cycling until health challenges slowed him down; his showmanship in the preparation of delectable cuisine never slackened.
As a “unicorn” in this world, Tory moved about free and fearless. Today’s worries and tomorrow’s concerns didn’t weigh on him long. Because of his spirit, he was able to bring happiness and joy to so many. No one I knew or encountered ever spoke ill of him.
Although, Tory never married and leaves behind no children; he departed this world leaving his memories of his jovial personality and free spirit on us all. Many of us hoped he would settle down, but that’s not the way of”Unicorns”. Unicorns prance and play their games in the fields of this world.
Postoria is survived by me (Rodney), his eldest brother; as well as a host of loving relatives and two very special friends (Arthur Burton and Maedean Chandler).
Until, we meet again, I hope that you are united by family and friends who have left before you and comforted by memories of us together.
May the Lord Our God be merciful and unite Tory with our brother Gary (Super G) and our mother the Blessed Saint Marie.
RIP
Bro
