Ponciano Peña, Jr., better known as Junior or Jr by his friends and family, passed away on January 6, 2016 at the age of 58.
Jr loved to dance and be the life of the party. He always made sure his shirt and pants were pressed when he hit the town and could be seen on the dance floor dancing the night away. Jr was also a ladies man; he could be found with the ladies so he could have a dance partner. At the age of 18, Jr started working as a carpenter and continued working in carpentry for many years until his health forced him to retire. Jr loved to eat tortillas with potatoes and hot sauce especially if he was sitting outside his house and talking with friends and family. He enjoyed long talks on the phone with his nine siblings. Jr was happily saved and enjoyed his life as a Christian.
Ponciano Peña, Jr. is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Peña; their children, Eladio Ruiz, Patricia Ruiz, and Christian Ruiz; his sisters, Betty Buyarski and her husband, James Buyarski, Erminia “Minnie” Cruz, Guadalupe “Lupe” Robles and her husband, Antonio Robles, Tammie Vargas and her husband, Ramon Vargas, Lisa Cueto, and Irene Vargas; his brothers, Albert Peña and his wife, Gracie Peña, Edward “Eddie” Hernandez, Paul Hernandez, and Thomas “Tommy” Hernandez; his aunts, Lydia, Lupe, Rosa, and Luisa; and his Uncle Julio. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, 10 nieces, 13 nephews, 7 great-nieces, 7 great-nephews, and many cousins. Jr is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anita Hernandez and Ponciano Peña; his loving sister, Arlene Peña; and his dear brother, Teodoro “Butch” Hernandez, Jr., and wonderful loving aunt Mary Gutierrez.
As family and friends to Jr, we know he is dancing in Heaven with the angels before his Lord.
