Mike accepted Christ at an early age at St.

Mike attended Blessit Sacrament, Providence St Mel, and Farragut High School in Chicago IL.  Shortly after high school, Mike worked at Harrington & King Steel Mill.  He went on to complete truck driving school and drove over the road for 5 years.  He also worked as a doorman.

Mike leaves to cherish his precious and unforgettable memories: His wife, Marilyn Tompson – Moody; sisters, Linda and Gloria (Rudy); daughters, Genetia (Lavar), Chanel (Chris), Emma (Dave); stepchildren, Santita and Charles; three grandsons, Darryl, Diyahvion, Lavar Jr.; six granddaughters, Nyia, N’yianna, Zaria, Tyla, E’marie, and Da’Veya; two nephews, Derrick, and Brandon (who were more like his sons); three nieces, Charie, Tiffany (Maceo), and Renee; great nieces and nephews, Domonique, Quran, and Maceo Jr., Brandy, Victoria, Daryln and Jayce; very close friends, LaRell, Pee-Wee, Robert, Frank, Taylor, Junie and Walter Powell.  Despite title he had a close special bond with Renee, Brandon, Quran, and Jayce.
