Pio “Pap” Biagini, 91, formerly of Cedar Point, died March 4, at St. Margaret Hospital in Spring Valley. He had been a resident of the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.
Mr. Biagini was born on august 14, 1921 in Cedar Point to Joseph and Genoefa (Farneti) Biagini. He was a S/Sgt in the U. S. Army in WWII, serving as a Heavy Mortar Crewman. He received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in France. He married Lillian Neuhalfen on July 3, 1954, in Seatonville. She died on May 21, 2000. He retired from Lone Star (Marquette) Cement. He was a member of the Oglesby American Legion, was a volunteer Fireman in Cedar Point, and was active in the Cedar Point Civil Defense. He is survived by one sister, Alberta Bornac, of Cedar Point, and nieces and nephews, including Darlene (Al) Piecha, of Oglesby.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters, Alma, Theresa, and Irma, and one brother, Emil.
