Phyllis Manfredo, 93, died peacefully March 9, 2018 surrounded by family. Phyllis was born December 17, 1924, in Boise, Idaho to George C. and Nora (Girdner) Walker, the fourth of five children. She grew up in S. Boise, attended Central Elementary, North Junior High, Boise High School and then graduated from Boise Junior College.
Phyllis married Dominic (Nick) Manfredo December 14, 1962 becoming a blended family with four children. Phyllis enjoyed music and playing the piano, dancing with Nick at the Ranch Club to Gibb Hochstrasser, golf and playing bridge for approximately 40 years with high school friends. Phyllis was an avid football fan and supported Boise State University football and Boise State’s Music College. Phyllis was a gentle sweet soul who will forever be loved by those who came to know her.
Phyllis is pre-deceased by her husband Dominic (Nick) Manfredo; her parents and three of her brothers: William (Bill) Walker, Donald (Don) Walker and Clayton (Perk) Walker who were all airline pilots. She is survived by her brother, Dr. James (Jim) Walker of Fredericksburg, TX, whose beloved wife, Virginia (Ginny) is recently deceased. She is also survived by her children, John Walker Ruud (Lois Jean) of Payette, ID, Christine Ruud Cramer (Daniel) of Chestnut Hill MA, and her wonderful stepchildren Niki (Ken) Bauer of Boise and Jack (Cathy) Manfredo of Boise and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
