Phyllis V. Jackson, 97, of Metamora passed away peacefully at 6:15am on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Snyder Village in Metamora.

She was born on December 19, 1916 in Denver, CO the daughter of late Byron and Gertrude H. Anderson Wear.

She married George E. Jackson on September 6, 1941 in Las Vegas, NV. He passed away in November of 1976. Two brothers also preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter Cynthia S. Watton of Rockford; sons Richard (Kathryn) Jackson of Thompson Falls, MT, George Lee (Mary Jane) Jackson of Metamora, IL. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, she taught school at Jack Creek School near Toulon, IL. She then worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Chicago and Los Angeles and after moving to Kewanee, she later worked for the former Kewanee Washer-Corp for 31 years retiring in 1986.
